Point Of View

For our assignment this week we had a choice of home and family, community or point of view.  I chose point of view.  My first choice was to video my son playing outside from his point of view but I had problems with my camera settings and could not video outside.  Then I decided to try and be the car going around the race track but, once again, camera settings were not cooperating.  So I finally borrowed a camera from someone else in class and came up with the following video.

Nostalgia video clip

Last week we were working on how to create video clips and our assignment was to do something nostalgic.  I came up with a few ideas but settled on the video below.  The reason I settled on this video is because my mom had given me a CD with some songs that she liked and wanted me to listen to them.  Most of them were Christmas songs but one stood out.  It was titled "Lonesome for My Precious Children" and it really tugged at my heart thinking about parents sitting on the porch waiting for someone to come visit....which is what my mom was doing when I got the music from her.  So... here is my rendition of "Lonesome......"

Reflections....

This week our assignment was to get reflections but I absolutely had no time to get creative so I tried to get some pics as I was out and about in between errands.  I tried to take pictures of things reflecting in the window or mirror of our car and here is what I came up with....
\

These photos were shot with a shutter speed of 1/60 with my aperture set at 5.6 and an ISO of 1600

For this shot I only changed my ISO to 3200 hoping I could see more of the lights that were available into the picture.

Silhuettes

Go Panthers!!

A group of us at Milton Middle decided to head to the roof of the school building to try our hand at creating silhouettes.

Here are just a few......

Trying some out on my own..... not so successful

I also thought I would try my hand at something "Fresh"  so here is my picture of "fresh electricity" being made!  :)

Writing with Light and a Passion for Red

If you know me, you know that I love bling and red!  I also love the light writing that we've done.  So what excitement I had to find out we had a choice of assignments.  However, I decided to combine two and this is what I came up with.  My shutter was set on "10 and my apperture was 5.0.  The ISO for this shot was 200.  Now that I think about it, leaving the light on a little longer may have allowed my sparkling red background to show up more.

Here are some of my efforts BEFORE I got to this stage....

My first shot.... WAY too close.
Then I tried using light to make my "red" stand out more..... but LED lighting just wasn't giving me the color that I wanted...

So... I used another flashlight but it was more like a spotlight and was only making part of the background show up....

So I decided to use the ceiling light (I'm in my closet BTW) but without thinking, had my ISO set too high for that much light...(I think it was 3200)

But after some tweaking with the ISO and the timing of my "drawing", I finally came to one that I was very close to my vision!.

Then....

I wanted to use this as a Valentine picture so I went to PhotoShop and designed this Valentine....
